About this Course:
Knowing how stamps are printed will help you to properly identify stamps and root out fakes. This three-session course will cover the basics of stamp printing technology and aid your stamp identification efforts. The four main types of printing used for virtually all stamps will be covered, as well as some design considerations and the use of color in multicolor printing (without going into color theory).
Session 1 (62 minutes) - Four Main Printing Types
Session 2 (72 minutes) - A Detailed Look at Line-Engraved Intaglio
Session 3 (68 minutes) - Brief Survey of Photogravure, Letterpress, and Offset Lithography
