About this Course:

Why did postal clerks dislike the green “step-children” of the Postage Due family?

Why are they difficult to find on cover?

On January 1, 1913, the green Parcel Post Postage Due (PPPD) stamps and the Parcel Post stamps were issued.  The green PPPD stamps were issued to pay the postage due on Parcel Post mail, while the red Parcel Post stamps as postage for Parcel Post mail.   However, six months later, the Post Office Department (POD) allowed the use of regular Postage Due stamps on underpaid Parcel Post mail and PPPD stamps for any Due purpose.  Simultaneously, the POD allowed the use of regular postage stamps on Parcel Post and Parcel Post stamps as postage for any class of mail.

Take a deep-dive into the rates and usages of U.S. Parcel Post Postage Due stamps used for domestic and international mail from 1913 until 1928 while viewing two videos.  Don’t miss the international segment which will include; payment of customs fees, incoming due mail and WWI soldier’s (and POW) mail.
